True North

Currently entering the fit-out stage, True North is a 60ft x 10ft widebeam being built for comfortable full-time living on the inland waterways.

The vessel has been fabricated by our trusted supplier and will shortly arrive at our workshop, where the next phase of the build begins. Over the coming months, True North will be transformed from a bare shell into a fully equipped liveaboard featuring a modern reverse layout, dedicated office space, spacious saloon, walk-through bathroom and king-size bedroom.

The specification includes a Victron 5kW inverter system with lithium batteries and solar charging, a Canaline 65hp engine with Vetus bow thruster, Webasto central heating, a 1,000L stainless steel water tank and a contemporary all-electric galley designed for modern life afloat.

Our customer Dave is painting his boat by hand, he wanted to put a personal touch on his and his wife’s new home.These are base coats so we can only imagine what the final coats will look like! She’s already beginning to look fantastic and we can’t wait to see her finished and sailing away.

And now we move into first and second fix. True North is really beginning to take shape, with every part of the layout designed around comfortable, practical living. The build features pocket doors throughout, upgraded bespoke cabinetry and ample integrated storage, making the most of every inch of space. There’s also a dedicated office area, a spacious bathroom with a full-sized vanity and shower, and plenty of bedroom storage with three wardrobes and a large chest of drawers. As the cabinetry, services and finishing details start coming together, the vision for True North is quickly becoming a reality.

The bespoke cabinetry is now beginning to transform the interior of True North. Designed specifically around the available space, the cabinetry includes the kitchen, media wall, three wardrobes, a chest of drawers, dedicated office area, full-sized bathroom vanity and bespoke storage stairs. Every available area has been carefully considered to maximise practical storage while creating a clean, contemporary finish throughout the boat.

Behind the cabinetry, the electrical installation is progressing through second fix. True North features a comprehensive Victron electrical system, with the main equipment housed together within a dedicated service area for easy access and future maintenance. Sockets, switches, lighting and final electrical connections are now beginning to bring the systems installed during first fix to life.

The plumbing and heating systems are also moving into their final stages, with the hidden pipework installed during first fix now being connected to the bathroom, kitchen and other services throughout the boat. As the sanitaryware, shower, vanity, kitchen appliances and heating components are installed, the cabinetry, electrical and plumbing systems begin to come together and turn True North into a fully functioning home.
